JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a Student Experience Manager Residence, to lead the Student Experience (Residential) Team and manage the Officers, to deliver an excellent student experience to all student in residencies, to support the welfare of students on campus and play a full role in the wider Student Services Team and middle management team, to act as DDSL and part of the out of hours safeguarding team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Line Manage the team, train and support staff working in residencies, recruit, train and support host families
  • Manage rota and cover in on site residencies and allocations in host families
  • Process timesheet/payroll claims and payments to host families
  • Ensure room readiness processes are effective
  • Maximise occupancy and ensure competitive appeal of residences
  • Ensuring that the team functions to the professional and consistent standards expected to provide a high level of customer focus to meet business needs.
  • Ensure student records are kept up to date e.g. room bookings
  • Ensure students are supported through the day, evening and weekend and during isolation.
  • Ensure students are tracked on arrival/departure and welcomed, ensuring appropriate communication/record keeping
  • Be able to respond to day to day queries in the Student Experience Office e.g. create ID cards, enter student data etc
  • To ensure that there is a schedule of varied and enticing ‘in-house’ and off site activities
  • To lead and oversee the student inductions
  • To lead with student surveys and issue resolution
  • Ensure all compliance requirements are met for activities and the National Minimum Standards for Residential Accommodation
  • Ensure Safeguarding and Fire and Health & Safety requirements are met.
  • Ensure Host Family provision meets all criteria including visits and recruitments of families/hosts as well as Fire, Health & Safety and safeguarding in host families.
  • Be part of the Out of Hours Safeguarding Team
  • Work flexibly to cover weekend and evenings to maintain appropriate level of support to students
  • Be part of the safeguarding on call team to cover the out of hours on call rota
  • To support the Attendance procedures and Attendance Policy on campus for all students
  • To ensure the area is resourced effectively to maintain the safety and wellbeing of students in residence of all ages
  • Ensure residences are equipped to manage emergencies with students such as domestic violence, trafficking or other situations which may put them at immediate risk
  • Implement and audit the relevant behaviour, discipline and safety processes and procedures in residences

EXPERIENCE:

  • Certified at the enhanced DBS level (check undertaken prior to employment)
  • Current First Aid certificate (post holder will be required to undertake this in role if not already held)
  • Opus trained (post holder will be required to undertake this in role if not already held)
  • Fire Marshall Trained (post holder will be required to undertake this in role if not already held).
