This role is part of the Rights Lab, a research unit focused on delivering world-leading research to help tackle modern slavery. You will join a vibrant and dynamic research and impact development team that works closely with civil society, business and government. 

In this role you will:

  • Develop relationships with businesses, and other organisations that have a business focus, and work with them to design and deliver collaborative research projects, including contracted research, that help to understand and tackle modern slavery.
  • Work to secure funding for business-focused research projects, including via writing grants, tenders and business cases, in partnership with Rights Lab research programmes.
  • Ensure that research undertaken for and with businesses is responding to industry challenges around modern slavery and has a clear impact trajectory.
  • Manage a range of business-focused projects, including the management of key partners.
  • Produce research briefings for external stakeholders about emerging research findings.
  • Lead on the development and maintenance of a network of strategic business partnerships, initiating and delivering projects with partners.
  • Contribute to events in relation to business, human rights, modern slavery and ESG, including speaking at such events as necessary.
  • Have the opportunity to identify new focus areas based in your areas of expertise and interest.

You will have a particular focus on projects led by the Rights Lab’s Business & Economies programme but work across all Rights Lab programmes on business-focused research projects, including a growing number of supply chains projects led by the Ecosystems & Environment programme and Data & Management programme. Externally, you may work and partner with operational businesses, consultancies, policy makers, other researchers and a range of third sector organisations.

This is a full-time (36.25 Hour) role, available on a fixed-term basis for 12 months (start date negotiable). Job share arrangements may be considered.
