Description

The School of Law invites applications from prospective postgraduate researchers who wish to commence study for a PhD in the academic year 2022/23 for the School of Law Doctoral Scholarship.

The award is open to full-time or part-time candidates (UK only) who have been offered a place on a PhD degree at the School of Law. We especially welcome applications that connect to the School's core research areas of business law and practice, criminal justice and criminology, law and social justice, and legal education.

The School of Law is a fantastic place to work and study. It has been ranked amongst the Top 10 for Law in the UK (Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2022). The 2014 REF placed the School 4th in the UK for overall impact of research. 

The School is comprised of four research centres: the Centre for Criminal Justice Studies, the Centre for Law & Social Justicethe Centre for Business Law and Practice, and the Centre for Innovation and Research in Legal Education.

Supporting PhD study is central to the School of Law’s identity as an academic institution. We seek to attract the brightest and best scholars from around the world and provide them with an outstanding study experience. We also ensure that they have access to a huge array of career and personal development opportunities.
