This role will lead on protecting the University Desktop and mobile devices from cyber security threats to minimise the impact of such threats on the University’s activities.
We are looking for an experienced ICT Endpoint Security Analyst to help drive forward the security of the University endpoints and its policies. You will have a good understanding of the other security tools such as Firewalls, Antimalware, Vulnerability Scanning, Desktop Application Security etc, and create security controls that protect the end point devices and services that staff and students’ access. You will be expected to mentor others within the team to spread knowledge and be receptive to learning new tools and keeping abreast of current endpoint security practices.
ICT Endpoint Security Analyst is responsible primarily for day-to-day endpoint security compliance for all University endpoint devices. The role will ensure the management, compliance, and support of core threat protection of endpoints and associated infrastructure to mitigate risk and protect against security vulnerabilities whilst maintaining compliance. UoB has over 4000 endpoints across several sites, including partner organisations, which need to be regularly monitored to ensure they are security compliant. The ICT Endpoint Security Analyst will work with LRC, Students services, Faculty IT technicians, and Research departments to ensure all the endpoint are patched and compliant, providing maximum protection to all UoB and BOYD endpoints.
ICT Endpoint Security Analyst will work with the Senior Application Development & Deployment Analysts to maintain stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house desktop and mobile computing.
In addition to the primary, you will undertake senior responsibilities which include deployment and upgrade, desktop application life-cycle tasks and responsibilities, software packaging, software and operating system scripting/automation, including desktop compliance and audit responsibilities.
