The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE, http://cse.sustc.edu.cn/en/), Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), Shenzhen, China, has multiple tenure-track faculty openings at all ranks, including Professor/Associate Professor in Software Engineering. We are looking for outstanding candidates with demonstrated research achievements and keen interest in teaching, in the area of Software Engineering (Senior positions).
Applicants must have an earned Ph.D. degree, outstanding research achievements (demonstrated by publications in leading venues) and demonstrated potentials in outstanding teaching. Teaching at SUSTech is bilingual, in either English or Putonghua. It is perfectly acceptable to use English only in all lectures, assignments and exams. In fact, our existing faculty members include several non-Chinese speaking professors.
Established in 2016, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering is one of the youngest departments in SUSTech. Currently, there are 28 tenured/tenure-track professors，including 5 chair professors, 4 full professors, 8 associate professors and 11 assistant professors. All faculty members hold doctoral degrees and have research and/or teaching experiences in world-renowned universities. Among them, there are 3 IEEE fellows and 10 are recognized by national talent programs. Our faculty members won prestigious international awards every year since 2016, from individual research awards to outstanding paper awards. Since its inception, our faculty members have published over 840 fully refereed papers and secured external grants of RMB 267 million. Established in 2012, the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) is a public institution funded by the municipal of Shenzhen, a special economic zone city in China. Shenzhen is a major city located in Southern China, situated immediately north to Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
