Do you have what it takes to support Volunteering and Advocacy at the University of Nottingham? 

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Volunteering and Advocacy Officer who can help us maximise volunteering contributions, by supporting the volunteer management process including thanking and stewarding volunteers to the University. Volunteers help the University of Nottingham in many ways from speaking about their career, mentoring, sitting on boards to assisting on student projects (to give a few examples).  

Reporting to the Head of Volunteering and Advocacy, the role holder will help the team harness the time, expertise and influence of alumni, volunteers, advocates and other friends. This role is pivotal to creating a positive supporter experience for each volunteer to inspire future volunteering supporting Faculty and University strategic priorities across the globe. This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly expanded Volunteering and Advocacy team engaged in securing and mobilising funding, volunteering and advocacy.??? 

 To succeed in this role you will: 

  • Have excellent knowledge of the general principles and standard practices of volunteering, alumni relations and stewardship 
  • Have fantastic customer service skills  
  • Have a keen eye for detail in managing relationships with volunteers 
  • Have fantastic organisational and planning skills to manage key central volunteering projects 

This role is available on a permanent basis. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours); however, applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 21.75 hours per week). Please specify in your application if you wish to work part time and the number of preferred hours. Arrangements for job share would be considered.
