The School: The School of People and Culture was created in April 2021 with a focus on professional and executive development. The school provides post graduate programmes in people management and is a CIPD accredited centre. The School is currently working on a number of short programmes and master classes designed specifically for people professionals. This is supported by a monthly career series where senior HR professionals share their career trajectory and experience. With ambitious plans for growth the school is planning to launch a range of networking and conference events over the year ahead.
The Opportunity: The Principal Lecturer is a subject expert, providing academic leadership within the School and supporting the Head of School. You are responsible for achieving targets in student outcomes and satisfaction (internal and external surveys), continually enhancing existing programmes and developing new programmes. A positive role model to their peers and students, you will also line manage Programme Leaders/Senior Lecturers and potentially other members of academic teams. You will be responsible for recruitment of academic staff and potentially undertake teaching and related duties on relevant programmes. You will lead staff development within the School and work closely with the Director of CILT to contribute to the delivery of Arden’s ambitious Academic Staff Development Plan.
About You: We are looking ideally for an HR professional with academic experience. You must be CIPD qualified and hold a masters level qualification in HR. A PhD and evidence of or enthusiasm to engage in research is desirable. With experience in programme management, managing staff and designing new programmes, you will need to be able to make an impact from day one. We are seeking someone who is friendly, approachable, adaptable, flexible, calm under pressure, driven and persistent. This is a fast-paced environment in an organisation that is growing rapidly so being able to manage ambiguity and change is essential.
