You will undertake research in a vibrant, inter-disciplinary research environment with excellent reputation and collaborations, and will join the Computational Chemistry Team lead by Dr Marco Sacchi in the Chemistry Department.
The candidate will work in the computational design and characterisation of novel 2D catalysts using a combination of density functional theory (DFT) and molecular dynamics (MD). In particular, the candidate will investigate the role of chemical doping by substitutional insertion of boron, nitrogen and phosphorus (B-, N- and P-doping), defects (single vacancies, SW vacancies and edges), defect densities and strain.
This position is to start as early as possible and is a fixed term contract up to 14 February 2023.
