We are seeking a Maintenance Assistant to: 

  • Support the mechanical maintenance team in their work
  • Undertake planned and unplanned maintenance such as general repairs and minor plumbing 
  • Safety testing

About you:

  • Have practical hands on DIY skills and the necessary vocational training and experience to undertake routine repairs
  • Familiar with and happy to work in the built environment, able to identify and remedy a variety of maintenance tasks and keep all affected informed of the situation
  • Have flexible approach to work and a willingness to undertake training to improve knowledge 
  • Are committed to the role and able to work individually and as part of a team
  • Have good problem solving, customer service and communication skills 

A recognised City & Guilds or NVQ 2 qualification in an engineering/ building discipline, or a related subject would be an advantage, however is not essential. 

You will join the Workshop Team at one of the UK's top university's with a fantastic reputation for student experience. The Workshop Team are a part of the Department of Estates, which is responsible for the development, upkeep and management of all the University's land and buildings.    Their upkeep is a vital part of the University of Bath’s reputation for exceptional student experience.

This role is offered on a full time (36.5 hours per week) permanent basis.
