We are deeply proud of our academic community. Nottingham Trent University (NTU) is a diverse and dynamic learning environment, defined by a shared sense of respect for all its people. Our mission is to be bold, to do the right things and to change lives, and our academics are key to realising those goals. Their work continues to reinforce our credentials as an award-winning university, and a research centre of excellence. In 2018, we were the first UK university to sign the Social Mobility Pledge, further demonstrating our commitment to ensuring ‘success for all’.
We wish to recruit a Research Fellow to work specifically on a Nuffield Foundation funded project entitled ‘Feasibility study of a Movement and Story-Telling intervention (MAST) for Reception children.’ The job is part-time at 0.8FTE.
Principal duties (to be undertaken with support from the project team) are:
Analyse and interpret the results of this research and generate original ideas based on these outcomes, preparing reports for the project team as necessary.
We are looking for someone with expertise in Psychology and/or Education and/or Sport and Exercise Science. Ideally, they will have experience of working with schools in a research capacity. Experience of delivering and evaluating interventions in school settings and experience with young children would be particularly valuable.
Applicants should have an Undergraduate and Masters or equivalent in Psychology, Education, Sport Science or any other relevant discipline. As a Research Fellow you will work on all aspects of the research including data collection, writing and publishing. This post is an exciting opportunity to work with an inter-disciplinary project team across NTU and Coventry University in the fields of Psychology and Sport and exercise science. It will also provide the chance to work alongside schools and teachers to deliver an innovative intervention to improve outcomes for disadvantaged children.
The post-holder will need to be able to travel to primary schools in the Nottingham area for data collection, but other work can be done remotely.
