Fixed Term: This role is offered as a full time, 12 month fixed term contract.

The salary range will be £36,770 - £44,388 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7.

An opportunity has arisen to join an established team within Research & Innovation Services, focussed on supporting the development and submission of research applications. Working in a busy and supportive environment, the post holder will be responsible for ensuring UCL proposals to external research funders have been developed in line with all internal and Funder requirements. The role will include assessing the financial integrity of applications, providing expert guidance and support and proactively working with the research and research support communities to ensure applications have the greatest chance of success, and taking ownership of a portfolio of academic departments. The role also involves analysis of awards made and scrutiny of any associated terms and conditions, prior to acceptance on behalf of the institution. The team work closely with colleagues across UCL, are regularly involved in the delivery of training and development and other outreach activities in order to provide a holistic and efficient service.

This role is offered as a full time, 12 month fixed term contract.

Suitable applicants will ideally have experience of supporting the development, costing and pricing of research applications to a variety of funders, and should be familiar with FEC and TRAC methodologies. An awareness of the UK research funding landscape or previous experience of working in a similar organisation would be advantageous. This role involves working to internal and funder deadlines, working closely with a range of staff across the institution and providing expert advice and guidance to ensure proposals are submitted in accordance with UCL and Funder policies, as well as identifying potential financial and non-financial risk within applications. Suitable candidates will have strong written and verbal communications skills and should be highly numerate. The ability to communicate complex guidance or budgetary information to a range of audiences, demonstrable experience of building productive working relationships and excellent organisational skills are also essential skills for this role.

We are operating hybrid working and you will have the opportunity to work remotely for up to 3 days a week if you wish
