Multiskilled Carpenters

As part of the ongoing development to the Department of Estates, several opportunities have arisen. 

About the role

This is a varied role which includes day to day reactive maintenance to the buildings, refurbishment, and project work, planned preventative maintenances, not to mention building furniture, and making signs.

You will take part in an on-call rota that attracts an additional allowance and overtime opportunities. 

These roles are offered on a full time (36.5 hours per week) permanent basis. 

About you 

• Excellent customer care and communication skills
• An in-depth understand of Health & Safety issues and familiar with basic risk assessments
• Completed an apprenticeship in carpentry, building maintenance or similar to NVQ Level 2 (basic) or equivalent
• Varied post apprenticeship experience

About the Department 

Working in Estates Department who are responsible for the strategic planning, development and management of the University’s lands and buildings, you will join the Building Services team. Your new role will include but not be limited to planned and unplanned maintenance activities in academic buildings, residences and sports facilities.
