Applications are invited for a Director OUCRU Nepal to join the Centre for Tropical Medicine and Global Health, Vietnam.
You will lead OUCRU Nepal through its transition to independence and beyond. The growth in research capacity in OUCRU Nepal over the last 5 years, and the increasing numbers of collaborations within and outside of Nepal, provides a great opportunity for an accomplished individual with a strong track record to take over the leadership of this dynamic Unit. You will ensure that OUCRU Nepal meets the highest standards of research excellence with a national and international impact. In addition to leading a team of research and research support staff to deliver a research programme, you will be expected and supported to develop your own research programme within the scope of work of OUCRU Nepal.
It is essential you hold a PhD in a relevant field together with extensive experience of working in resource-poor settings, including Asia. You will have a proven ability to lead and develop a research programme independently along with experience of leading a multinational, multi-disciplinary team and managing, mentoring and motivating research and operational staff, Excellent diplomacy skills, with an ability to interact and collaborate productively with stakeholders in Nepal, with collaborative sites, major international stakeholders and to engage senior staff will be essential to carry out this role.
