Composites CDT Industry Engagement Manager

The role

An exciting industry engagement role is available within the Composites Science, Engineering and Manufacturing Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in the Faculty of Engineering. The CDT, part of the Bristol Composites Institute, provides excellent training to cohorts of PhD students through taught elements and research projects which are, ideally, industry inspired and collaborative.

You will be managed within the Bristol Composites Institute Research Support Team and be part of the Faculty’s Industrial Liaison Office Research Support Network. This is a team of about ~50 research administrators and project managers who meet regularly to share best practice and offer mutual

What will you be doing?

• You will take initiative in developing productive relationships with companies to support the exploitation of outputs from the CDT.
• You that have an interest in composite materials and manufacturing and through this, build a portfolio of industry funded projects for CDT students to work on.
• You will work closely with students and supervisors across the CDT and the University’s Research and Enterprise Development team to explore opportunities to commercialise research.

You should apply if

• You have demonstrable experience of working autonomously and proactively to build effective relationships with industry which deliver tangible results.
• You have excellent organisation, communication, and decision-making skills
• You have a proven ability to build rapport and influence.

Contract type: Open ended subject to funding

Work pattern: Part time

Grade: J

Salary: £38,357 - £43,434  per annum (pro rata)
