Professor / Reader in Mathematics

University of Warwick

The Warwick Mathematics Institute is a world-leading, research-focused department. We currently have over 80 permanent academic staff and a commensurate number of postdocs and PhD students.

We are of the UK’s leading departments in the 2021 national Research Excellence Framework (together with Warwick Statistics), scoring highly in the quality of research, its Impact and our Environment are outstanding. Our undergraduate programme is the equal of any other in the UK and this is reflected by the quality of our students. The university itself is consistently in the top 10 of UK university league tables and top 50 of international tables.

Our staff work across the whole spectrum of mathematics. There is no formal division here between pure and applied maths; we actively support interaction across mathematical boundaries and encourage collaboration beyond the confines of the department and academia.

As part of its ongoing growth and development, the Warwick Mathematics Institute at has two Professorships open for application.  These two senior roles will suit those with internationally leading research programmes who also have a genuine commitment to teaching as part of a mutually supportive and close working team.  Preference may be given to candidates with an independent research agenda who will complement existing strengths in the Department, bridge between existing areas of expertise within the Department, or strengthen mathematical connections with application areas.

These roles represent an outstanding opportunity for those wishing to elevate their career to the next level within an internationally leading Department and Institution. The Warwick Mathematics Institute is committed to fostering an inclusive environment and we look forward to interest from female applicants.
