The Board of Electors to the Professorship of Plant Ecology invite applications from people whose work falls within the general field of the Professorship, to take up appointment on 1 January 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The Department seeks to appoint a scientist of outstanding calibre to this Professorship. Our new colleague will provide leadership in plant ecology research and teaching in Cambridge, as well as nationally and internationally. This appointment arises at a vibrant time for the study of plant science in Cambridge, with over 35 research groups covering the breadth of the subject. In addition to colleagues in the Department of Plant Sciences, the University's Conservation Research Institute provides the opportunity to interact with conservation scientists from other University Departments and from nine conservation NGOs. Similarly, the Crop Science Centre, a joint venture with NIAB, is a conduit for the translation of fundamental scientific discovery into agricultural practices, including consideration of land use.

Standard professorial duties include teaching and research, examining, supervision and administration. The Professor will be based in Cambridge. A competitive salary will be offered.
