Politics and International Relations at UWE Bristol is a vibrant and diverse programme located in the interdisciplinary Department of Social Sciences. Our research aims to address global challenges, such as insecurity, vulnerability, and inequalities, in local and international contexts. We are focused on the delivery of high-quality teaching and an excellent student experience, coupled with outstanding research, all delivered with a strong emphasis on the application of academic understanding to local, national, and international challenges. Due to our continuing success, we are now recruiting academic staff. Working effectively with colleagues, you will be expected to contribute to a learning environment where students have the opportunity to develop their knowledge, skills, and confidence and to carry out research, knowledge exchange, and/or professional practice.
We are looking to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Politics, and for candidates who can make distinctive contributions in the broad disciplines of politics/political science. We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants with research and teaching expertise in the following sub-disciplines:

About you:
The successful candidate will have a PhD qualification (or be close to finishing a PhD) in Politics or a closely related subject. You will also have a proven track record of recent teaching experience in Politics and International Relations, in a variety of teaching contexts (such as seminars, lectures, small group tutorial, etc.) within a higher education setting. Further, you will have a proven and recent track record in research in Politics and International relations, and have the breadth and depth of subject knowledge required to both contribute to and enhance the current programme. One of our key priorities at UWE is supporting students from diverse backgrounds throughout their learning journeys. This means that you will: have a good working knowledge of, or a willingness to engage with Technology Enhanced Learning; demonstrate an understanding of, and commitment to, current priorities in HE such as outreach, student experience and engagement, and employability; evidence of an ability to design innovative teaching and assessment materials; and evidence of effective student support skills.
