Research and Innovation in the Creative Industries and Communities space is a key strength at Brunel University London. The BDM Creative Industries and Communities is a vital member of a team of experienced BDMs that provide research and innovation capacity building through creating and developing new partnerships, generating income and maximising impact.
The University is looking to recruit for a BDM - Creative Industries and Communities. The role will be required to work proactively to drive engagement with relevant external stakeholders and to build strategic partnerships with industry, creative sector, arts organisations, policy-makers and academic groups. The post will play a vital role in supporting the College of Business, Arts and Social Science (CBASS), in developing and delivering the implementation of a new Creative Industries strategy, as well as working with the Institute of Communities and Society and Creative Industries hub in the School of Design to maximise opportunities from up and coming major external funding sources. The BDM team is part of and works closely with a well-established, proactive research support and development team and across professional services teams in the Colleges.
The ideal candidate should have specialist technical and market knowledge and expertise as well as a strong network and connection in the Creative/ Arts sectors, in order to provide credibility with both academics and external stakeholders. Proven experience of successful business development, in either a commercial or academic environment, is required together with an excellent knowledge of the research and innovation funding landscape. A good understanding of the strategic drivers in higher education is also essential. The position requires a flexible attitude and an ability to deliver successful outcomes through a professional, responsive and creative approach.
There will be an opportunity for the role to be considered on a part-time basis.
