The School of Arts supports five successful and dynamic departments: Music, Film, Theatre, Anthropology and Archaeology, and Philosophy. We wish to appoint a 0.5FTE Technical Specialist to take responsibility Health & Safety Management within the Archaeological Chemistry Laboratories.
What will you be doing?
Recognised as a safety specialist, you will be based in the School of Arts and provide support to the Archaeology teaching lab, Archaeological Chemistry lab and Computerised Tomography (CT) Labs. You will provide specialist instruction and advice to Principle Investigators, Head of School and School Manager on all aspects of health and safety as related to archaeological lab-based work. You will be expected to engage in proactive monitoring of accident/incident and near-miss data to provide detailed advice and solutions for improvements to senior management.
