Associate Lecturer in Counselling and Psychotherapy

We have an excellent opportunity for an Associate Lecturer A for the following programmes:

• MSc Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy Weekend Route - 10 weekly classes over three terms on Saturday daytime. Some starting in October and some starting in January
• MSc Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy Weekday Route - 10 weekly classes over three terms on Monday / Tuesday daytime. Starting in October
• Foundation for Counselling and Psychotherapy Training (Graduate Certificate)10 weekly classes over three terms on Thursday evenings, staring October AND / OR 10 weekly classes over three terms on Saturday daytime January – December
• Certificate of Higher Education Psychodynamic Counselling - 10 weekly classes over three terms, options include: Tuesday mornings, Tuesday evenings, Wednesday mornings, Wednesday evenings, and Saturday morning. You would teach on the same class each week for three terms.

You will be a psychodynamic counsellor or psychotherapist, or a psychoanalytic psychotherapist, trained to masters level or equivalent, with substantial, post-qualification clinical experience, some of which will ideally be in a public setting. You will have experience of different types of teaching methods and strategies appropriate to counselling/psychotherapy (in particular, both experiential and critical teaching methods).

Further to the person specification, essential requirements for this role are:

• A clinical qualification in psychodynamic counselling, psychodynamic psychotherapy, or psychoanalytic psychotherapy
• A current clinical practice and substantial, post-qualification clinical experience, some of which will ideally be in a public setting
• Teaching experience appropriate to the level of the course you are applying to teach

Remuneration:

Payment is based on an hourly rate depending on length of continuous service with the College (starting rate £61.68 per hour inclusive of pro-rata London Allowance and holiday pay) for contact hours worked. This hourly rate is based on the starting point of Grade 7 and is inclusive of a ‘Duties Related to Teaching Multiplier’ which covers preparation, teaching, administration, assessment marking and other examining duties in connection with the course.
