Swansea University is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in the School of Psychology, on a temporary basis, to cover a period of maternity leave. The appointment will be on a Teaching Academic Career Pathway.
The School of Psychology is developing new, innovative, and digital approaches to its teaching. Applicants with experience, skills, and/or an enthusiasm for working in a team developing this approach would be particularly welcome. Expertise in biological or cognitive areas of psychology are a focus for this post due to the nature of the cover. The applicant will be expected to cover research methods training at MSc level and biological processes at BSc Year 1 level, in addition to providing mentoring support. The post requires high quality delivery of teaching and student learning and a commitment to enhancing the overall student experience.
The School has been highly successful in recruiting students over the past several years, and has a flourishing undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programme. It also has a thriving research community with particular research strengths in many areas of psychology, including a range of applied areas of research. In REF 2021 Psychology at Swansea was rated as having 78% of our research being world-leading or international excellent (4*/3*) and scoring 100% 4* for our research environment conducive to producing research of world-leading and internationally excellent quality.
