We are seeking an enthusiastic and flexible person with demonstrable administrative experience to help deliver high-quality researcher development and training activities for graduate students and early career research staff in the Medical Sciences Division. This is a key stream of activity, underpinning our internationally recognised doctoral and postdoctoral training programmes.
The successful candidate will be a member of the Graduate School Team within the Education Team in the Medical Sciences Divisional Office, with wide-ranging responsibility for researcher development and training across the whole of the Medical Sciences Division, supporting the needs of over 1,500 full-time graduate students and over 2,500 early career research staff. You will administer and evaluate an annual programme of courses and events, and implement initiatives for training, working closely with the academic Director of Skills Training and Researcher Development, and the Skills Training Committee, in collaboration with colleagues from across the University. You will line manage the Skills Training Co-ordinator, who provides support for delivery of the programme.
You will need to be able to work independently, taking the lead responsibility for initiatives and projects as required, and exercising sound and measured judgement and discretion. You will also have the ability to handle a demanding and varied workload, managing your time and prioritising your work effectively and efficiently.
This post is permanent and available on a full-time basis with immediate effect. Applications are also welcome on a part-time basis from candidates who can offer at least 80% FTE. If you wish to discuss the role informally, please email david.hyland@medsci.ox.ac.uk
Applications for this vacancy are to be made online. You will be required to upload a CV and supporting statement as part of your online application.
The closing date for applications is 12 noon on Friday 15 July 2022. Interviews will be held on 10 August 2022 at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
