The University of London Careers Service is recruiting a Careers Consultant to work with students and graduates from St George’s, University of London.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team working with an interesting and varied student group. As a Careers Consultant, you will help students and graduates to acquire the skills necessary to choose their future path, find employment, and manage their careers successfully. You will achieve this by providing high quality, client-centred careers and employability support through a combination of one-to-one guidance, workshops and events, and other employability-related activities. These will be delivered both remotely and in-person, all tailored to the bespoke needs of students on the specialised programmes at St George’s. A key part of this role will be for you to build strategic relationships with academic staff, alumni, student representatives, employers and other key stakeholders to design and deliver the best possible employability support. You will also help develop online resources and learning materials.

The St George’s Careers Consultants are an integral part of the University of London Careers Service and share best practice and support with the other Small and Specialist Colleges within the University, as well as the team supporting the University of London’s distance and flexible learners. The University of London Careers Service is part of The Careers Group, so team members also collaborate with colleagues from across The Careers Group on activities that enhance the quality and effectiveness of our services.

St George’s has adopted a hybrid working model. Although flexible working can be requested, there is a requirement for at least two days per week working onsite (pro rata for part time staff) – which equates to one day a week on campus for the postholder. This model will be reviewed periodically and the postholder will be expected to work to the same model as St George’s staff.

For more information on the role, please read the Job Description and Job Pack at https://www.jobs.london.ac.uk/displayjob.aspx?jobid=2138.

For an informal chat about the role please contact Gemma Garrett, Deputy Head of Career, University of London Careers Service (Small and Specialist Colleges) on gemma.garrett@careers.lon.ac.uk.

To be considered for this opportunity, please submit your application at the above link before the closing date at midnight on Sunday 10th July 2022.

Interviews and assessment activities will take place on Thursday 28th July and Friday 29th July 2022 (you will only be required to attend on one of these days). Panel interview and assessment activities will take place virtually, via MS Teams.

We look forward to receiving your application.
