You will contribute to research and clinical work with people affected by cancer. The primary research emphasis is on psychological treatment development and evaluation. Our research group on clinician-patient communication and psychological processes in adjustment to cancer is known internationally. You will also be part of an NHS service, linked to this group, established to ensure that people affected by cancer in Liverpool have access to high-quality psychological care. Because your work with patients will simultaneously meet service needs and support the clinical research programme, research and clinical time will overlap. As a guide, we envisage 0.6wte in direct clinical work with patients, which will include patients in clinical research studies, 0.2wte for work to meet other clinical service needs, and 0.2wte as necessary to support the research (including supervision, training, and data preparation).
You should have a degree in psychology or social science and a professional qualification in clinical psychology conferring eligibility for registration with the HCPC with relevant experience.
The post is available until 31st March 2024.
The University has the right to close the vacancy early if it is deemed that there have been enough applications received
