Student Voice Manager

The Role 

An opportunity has arisen for an individual to join a successful Student Experience Team and work in partnership with the Students’ Union and teams across the University to provide oversight for the University’s approach to engaging with the voice of all our students and facilitating the effective operation of the National Student Survey and other key feedback mechanisms.

This appointment is for a fixed-term to 27 October 2023 in order to provide cover for a permanent member of staff who is absent from work on maternity leave. You should note that should the permanent member of staff choose to return to her post earlier than the end date of this contract then a notice period of 1 month, instead of 3 months, shall apply to the ending of this appointment.

What will you be doing? 

• You will lead, coordinate, deliver and evaluate mechanisms to seek student views.
• You will develop timely innovative, dynamic and responsive student voice initiatives.
• You will gather information and analyse data arising from Student Voice activities.
• You will ensure the effective operation of national surveys, such as the National Student Survey, and other key feedback mechanisms.

• We are looking to appoint an individual who has a track record of working successfully in a similar role.
• You will be familiar with the range of feedback opportunities available to students and sensitivity to differing needs and experiences of different student groups.
• You will have awareness of the needs of and issues facing students from a variety of backgrounds.
• You will be well-organised, flexible and able to adapt to meet deadlines and changing workloads.

Experience and Skills that will help you in the role: 

• Experience of using and analysing data to make recommendations and inform future planning and to evaluate activities.
• Experience of research methodology including surveys and focus groups.
• Experience of high quality feedback loop system within a student/ customer facing setting
• Knowledge of the UK higher education sector including understanding of access, inclusion and student engagement issues.
