Applications are invited for the post of Senior Lecturer to contribute to professionally accredited Surveying undergraduate full time and degree apprenticeship courses and postgraduate courses.  This is an exciting opportunity to join our School in a role that brings together professional practice and academia. Development of employable graduates is a key mission of our School and you will therefore be expected to support the delivery of our courses and provide an outstanding experience for our students. In addition to the ability to engage, motivate and support students, the role holder will develop research activities in line with School, Faculty and University research themes.

The successful applicant will have specialist expertise in an area relating to Quantity Surveying. Applicants should have an awareness of the current trends and developments in surveying both nationally and internationally. The role requires excellent communication and management skills, a willingness to engage with a broad range of built environment themes and an enthusiasm for the development of innovative teaching initiatives.  Experience of apprenticeships is highly desirable.

The School has excellent staff-student relationships and healthy undergraduate and postgraduate recruitment representing a broad range of professionally accredited courses, supported by excellent links with both practice and professional institutions. The University of Portsmouth’s teaching has achieved the highest possible ‘Gold’ rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework in recognition of the excellence of its teaching. Full support will be provided to develop academic skills through the Academic Professional Apprenticeship or APEX Programme.
