Cambridge Public Health (CPH) has been awarded funding to support approaches to better measurement of the interactions of business, environment and population health and better alignment of these for global societies than has been possible to date. This work aligns with, and is linked to, the aspirations of Business for Health (www.businessforhealth.org/) and Reform for Resilience (www.r4rx.org/). The overall purpose of this role is to provide public health and statistical expertise to develop the framework, approach and content of indices that capture whether regions/nations/localities have resilience regarding improvement in health of populations as well as sustainability and economic resilience. Working with multidisciplinary teams, within and beyond the University the post holder will be expected to engage actively across Cambridge Public Health. They will be expected to contribute to the conduct, analysis and implementation of the approach with partners outside the University such as mayors and corporate sectors and to support evaluation and reporting.
The post-holder will have a postgraduate degree in a relevant subject or have equivalent qualifications and/or experience combined with thorough knowledge and understanding of the principles and methods of public health research including strong analytical skills; practical experience using population health-related data and information systems, and ability to resolve highly complex information queries and problems; experience working and/or liaising with academics, local government and policy makers in the NHS or other complex environment regionally and nationally; excellent IT and organisational skills, ability to work independently, and demonstrable problem solving skills and initiative. The post holder will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be able to draft technical documents and write for varied external audiences.
