Job Details

We are looking for an experienced Supporter Engagement Manager with excellent communication and organisational skills to join our Development team.

Your role will be to lead on, develop and deliver an annual programme of appeals and campaigns that uses direct mail, email marketing, and telemarketing, to recruit new donors and regular givers and to encourage repeat giving. This also includes promoting legacy marketing in order to maximise future legacy income.

You will also be a champion for exceptional donor stewardship, ensuring our supporters enjoy the best possible experience with us. You will implement our donor development and stewardship programmes, including leading on the creation and delivery of our twice-yearly supporter newsletter ‘Search’.

Key Requirements

The successful candidate for this role will have a track record of managing successful direct marketing and fundraising campaigns, ideally within the not-for-profit sector. You will have experience in writing copy for direct mail appeals and for the web.

You will have outstanding written and oral communication skills and be able to engage with our science to communicate it effectively in lay terms. You will be able to build strong relationships, both internally and externally, and have excellent attention to detail.

This is a very busy role so you will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and have a proven ability to work to tight deadlines and to manage multiple priorities. We are looking for someone with a genuine curiosity about the importance of our scientific research and a willingness to make an impact.
