As Senior Research Policy Analyst your work will inform strategic decision-making, and help anticipate future trends across Higher Education and research & innovation policy landscape, globally.

This role also offers the opportunity for hybrid working, and may require some national travel as you engage externally with a broad range of stakeholders.

About the Role

This is a new senior position within the Research Strategy and Policy Unit, which was established in 2021 to focus on research strategy and the development and coordination of institution-wide research policies.

Through consultation and detailed analysis you will lead on the development and advocacy of research policy positions, providing accessible and high-quality, evidence‐based reports for senior colleagues and committees at Oxford.

You will also contribute to and influence sector thinking by contributing to the sector evidence base,  through debate and the publication of position papers and articles in order to enhance Oxford’s voice in the national research and innovation policy arena and become a trusted provider of expertise and analysis.

About You

You will have a substantial track record of identifying, gathering, and analysing evidence to inform strategic decision-making and policy development at organisational level.

You will also have proven experience of networking and successfully influencing senior leaders at a strategic level, with the ability to demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of issues and developments in global Higher Education and economic policy.

First class communications both written and oral are essential, with a capacity to convey complex information and recommendations clearly and succinctly.
