About our Team  

As Internal Communication and Events Manager, reporting to the Associate Director Communications and Engagement, this is a fantastic opportunity to play an important role in engaging Heriot-Watt University’s staff and students across the world. We are keen to identify an experienced Internal Communications professional with the passion and enthusiasm to deliver in this pivotal role.
 
You will be a key member of the Marketing, Recruitment, Communications and Alumni (MRAC) directorate, and a major stakeholder in shaping and delivering our internal communications channels. You will work with our Information Services colleagues to constantly develop our systems and processes to be the best they can be. This is a diverse role which includes linking effectively with staff and students across our global university community in Scotland, Dubai and Malaysia. Detailed Description

The Internal Communications and Engagement Manager will lead a team of experienced professionals to plan, develop and deliver global internal communications for the University. They will be responsible for the effective use of current and future internal communications channels and systems. This includes engaging staff and students with key messages and enabling the delivery of the University’s Strategy 2025. They will raise awareness of opportunities and success stories across our global campuses, facilitate two-way communications and build a strong sense of community

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • You will lead and deliver communications across all University internal channels with a strong focus on digital. This includes managing diverse communications requests from a wide range of internal stakeholders, telling compelling stories of success, and engaging targeted audiences.

Education, Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate should hold a degree or relevant professional qualifications or significant relevant professional experience. They should be skilled in the use of the latest digital tools and techniques to engage staff and students.
