We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work with Professor Patrick Farrell on an exciting project in multicomponent flow modelling. This is a full-time position, fixed-term for one year, and is supported by a research grant from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council. Please note that, in order to complete the full 12-month position, the latest start date for the post is 1st January 2023.

The successful candidate will join the Numerical Analysis research group and carry out research in an area related to the project. They will write up their results for publication, present papers at conferences and contribute ideas for new research projects, whilst also managing their own academic research and administrative activities.

You will have, or be close to completing, a PhD in mathematics or a related discipline, and possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within established research programmes. You will have experience of developing finite element discretisations for multiphysics PDE systems, and of conducting numerical simulations of industrially-relevant problems, alongside excellent communication skills and the ability to manage your own academic research and administrative activities.
