The Research and KE Development team co-ordinates the universities research development activity including the relationship with research funders and support for major and strategic bids. The research funding team provides high quality support co-ordination of institutional response to major funding calls as well as providing support to faculty and R&I teams for the development of major and strategic research and Knowledge Exchange (KE) bids.

The role will work as part of a small team delivering strategic research and KE funding support for UKRI and charitable funding, led by the Strategic lead for UKRI, with oversight from the Head of RKE Development. They will work to develop and maintain a pipeline of activity and funding opportunities, ensuring these are effectively communicated across the institution and high-quality bids are developed for major funding opportunities.

This is a new role in the University’s Research and Innovation (R&I) Division which will help to complement our existing strengths. This is one of a number of roles where we are recruiting new expertise across R&I remit to support the ambitious growth plans of the University and our R&KE Strategic Delivery Plans.

R&I provides comprehensive support throughout the research and innovation lifecycle, from first ideas through to commercialisation and industry partnerships. The teams provide invaluable expert advice, RKE management infrastructure and support to delivery of the University’s research and knowledge exchange strategies. A restructure of R&I, supported with significant investment by the university, has created this role and a number of new opportunities for you to join us in providing an expert framework to deliver increased research performance across the University.

We aspire to bring together enthusiastic, dedicated people, who are motivated to drive a step change in research and knowledge exchange (KE) performance This is an exciting time to join the Research & Innovation Division as we move to a new structure which will be agile; sustainable; facilitate business partnering with Faculties and other Professional Services; and improve the delivery of R&I’s core functions.

The post is offered on a full-time (36.25 hours per week), permanent contract. Job share arrangements may be considered.
