An opportunity has arisen for the appointment of a Reader to make a major contribution to research, knowledge exchange, academic leadership and teaching within our Business School. Located in the Department of People & Performance, the successful applicant will be expected to play an important role directly through their own research and, also, indirectly through their research leadership to the School's and Faculty's strategic research objectives, particularly via membership of the Decent Work and Productivity Research Centre.

Established in 2018 and currently consisting of 36 core members, Decent Work and Productivity provides an inter-disciplinary forum for research within the Business School focused upon understanding and promoting decent work and employment in contemporary society. Its research profile includes major funded projects from the ESRC and Leverhulme, as well as from government and industry sources (e.g. Greater Manchester Combined Authority, GM Applied Research Collaboration). Applicants will also be expected to contribute towards teaching in the Department, which offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in HRM, Business Psychology and leadership, including the MBA, and which contributes courses in organisational behaviour, HRM and psychology to other business school programmes. Applicants will have a background in one of a number of cognate areas, including: human resource management, organisational behaviour, organisational psychology, organisation studies, gender and diversity, and leadership.
