IOE is UCL’s Faculty of Education and Society. With more than 900 academic staff, 8,000 students, 190 research collaborations and cross-sector partnerships spanning five continents, our six departments work across education, culture, psychology and social science to improve lives. This is an exciting opportunity to join the IOE Marketing and Communications team as Communications Officer. You will play a key role in delivering the IOE’s digital communications strategy aimed at raising and maintaining its national and international brand reputation, generating engagement with the faculty’s various external and internal audiences, including prospective students, current students, alumni and partners.
Working within the IOE Marketing & Communications Team, you will be responsible for the management of the IOE’s digital communications channels, significantly social media, website and intranet, and email and blog platforms where relevant. You will manage, curate and implement the social media content calendar and coordinate this with colleagues across the marketing team, departments and centres at the IOE. You will lead on the day-to-day running of the IOE’s social media channels, proactively creating, editing, scheduling and posting high-quality content to engage key audiences, reporting on analytics regularly, and championing new ideas and strategies for social media engagement. You will proofread written content in line with the IOE and UCL’s guidelines. You will write communications copy to disseminate to staff via email and on the intranet as and when required.
With an awareness of current and emerging digital trends, you will have strong multimedia content creation skills for social media, emails and websites. You will have experience of using a content management system (CMS), excellent written communication and proofreading skills, including an understanding of the principles of editing and writing copy for digital platforms and experience of delivering and monitoring campaigns.
