Knowledge Transfer Partnership is one of the UK's largest graduate recruitment schemes. This position offers a talented engineer or scientist the opportunity to work with Zen Green Stage Ltd, a small but dynamic manufacturing company with highly driven staff. The role will be integral to advancing the performance and features of the company’s main product – the world-leading Green Stage – a configurable indoor golf surface for the practice and coaching of putting.

This is an excellent springboard for an influential and stimulating career at the forefront of technology enhanced training and coaching in golf.

You will take the lead on a technology development project that supports the company’s aims to embed computer vision technologies with sensor data integrations to enhance performance of golf ball tracking and prediction on the Green Stage. The project is framed around incorporating technology that enable applications of coaching theories that help people learn the game of golf at all levels.

The KTP is both an industry and research role. You will have a high degree of autonomy and the opportunity to work closely with Directors at Zen to deliver a project that will have significant positive impact on the business. You will also work extensively with leading academics in this field within the Sports Engineering Research Group at Sheffield Hallam University. In addition to developing your capabilities through the role, you will also have opportunity for new skills development through relevant external training.

The role requires a first degree in a technical-scientific subject (such as computing, maths, physics, engineering or related). A high level of competency in one or more programming languages is essential (such as MATLAB/C++/C#/ Python or equivalent), and knowledge of computer vision methods and systems is desirable. Experience of hardware/software system integration, ideally for production systems is also desirable. You will ideally be an innovative problem solver with the potential to establish a leading role in the company. A professional or personal interest in sport would be an advantage.
