Full time, Fixed Term: The duration of the post is for two years in the first instance.
UCL Department of Chemical Engineering is one of the top research and teaching departments in the UK and has world-class standing. The department offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and has an extensive research portfolio across a wealth of areas, and from molecular scale to complex systems. The project is funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and is in collaboration with investigators from the Judge Business School at University of Cambridge. The project aims at developing cutting-edge systems methods that investigate hydrogen infrastructure options for heat decarbonisation under uncertainty. The project members will interact closely and inform key stakeholders such as the Committee on Climate Change and National Grid. The investigators team are members of the Centre for Process Systems Engineering (CPSE) and the Energy Policy Research Group at Judge Business School.
The main role of the post holder will be to carry out research in the areas of optimisation under uncertainty for the derivation of robust energy policies in a hydrogen-led economy towards net zero. Applicants that are currently working towards their PhD will be considered and will be appointed at grade 6B £33,184 - £34,976 per annum.
