Introduction
Interested in joining a dynamic team of professionals based in Twickenham, West London who are pivotal in ensuring the UK Government’s funding of applied research to solve health and social care challenges makes a real difference to the health and wellbeing of people in the UK.
We are looking for a Senior Programme Manager to join our team at the NIHR to help deliver the Programme Grants for Applied Research and Programme Development Grants research funding programmes, and support delivery of the recently commissioned Blood and Transplant Research Units .
We are looking for someone who can:
Essential competencies:
Degree in biomedical or health sciences or equivalent experience
Strong leadership style, and proven track record of research management
Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrable success in stakeholder management within and across multiple organisations
Ability to think strategically, interpreting complex information, putting information in context and having a clear view of the “big picture”
Excellent writing skills and meticulous attention to detail
Excellent planning and organisational skills, able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks, working to challenging targets and deadlines
Desirable skills and abilities:
A PhD in a medical, scientific or technical discipline
Experience of working in a research management environment, preferably within a healthcare setting
Knowledge of the UK’s health and care research landscape
