The UCL Arts and Sciences department hosts the MASc in Creative Health, the first of its kind in the UK and the world; both in relation to the qualification (Masters in Arts & Sciences) and the academic field of study (Creative Health). The MASc in Creative Health addresses a growing interest in the fields of Arts and Health and social prescribing, with a focus on research-led practice, community engagement, non-clinical approaches to health and wellbeing, and experiential teaching.

We are looking for a Lecturer (Teaching) to work with us to continue delivery of the MASc in Creative Health. This will require skills in curriculum development and teaching delivery, and experience of community engagement. The postholder will have interdisciplinary experience in the area of Creative Health, with a preference for connections between science and medicine, and either arts and humanities or social science disciplines, and a PhD or PhD very near completion in any relevant area. The postholder will be committed to both broad areas of knowledge in creative health in areas of sciences/medicine, arts/humanities/social sciences and have a hybrid educational background. Experience in teaching on issues related to social prescribing will be an advantage. Previous experience of teaching and engagement in Higher Education is essential.

The successful candidate will be expected to lead the Dissertation Project and supervise dissertations. They will convene and teach on a planned new module ‘Community Wellbeing, Health Inequalities and the role of Social Prescribing’, and will also be involved in the development, co-ordination and delivery of Masters-level modules including: Research Methods in Arts and Sciences; Lived Experience in Research, Policy and Practice; Arts, Nature and Wellbeing: Non-Clinical Interventions in Health. Additional duties will include acting as a Personal Tutor; active development and maintenance of partnerships with community, policy and network organisations; student recruitment; open days; module and programme management and administration. The postholder will also take on an administrative role as Admissions Tutor, Graduate Tutor or PG Exam Board Chair. Furthermore, the post will be actively involved in developing the MASc Creative Health programme at the new UCL ! East camp us.

This role is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 40% on site, but days will be determined by teaching commitments.
