The microbiome has become one of the most complex and exciting areas of research in both food and pharmaceutical arenas. Since its inception in 2003, the APC has established itself as one of the leading and largest global centres in human microbiome research. The APC has made several landmark discoveries and has published over 3,000 research articles in peer-reviewed journals, generating many journal covers and associated editorials. The APC is a seamless collaboration of 300 researchers, managers and support staff distributed across UCC, Teagasc, University of Galway, Trinity College Dublin, and various other academic institutions across the country. In particular we welcome applications from candidates with expertise in fields such as mucosal immunology, neuro-inflammation, biostatistics and AI model development, cancer and the microbiome, environmental microbiomes and their relationship to human and animal health as well as food production. Candidates will be expected to be competitive for ERC and other prestigious EU/International funding awards, to collaborate with industry, become involved with the APC’s education and public engagement programme of activities, and to be committed to translating excellent science for the benefit of society.
