Are you interested in working for a world top 100 University?
We have an exciting opportunity in the School of Health and Related Research to appoint a motivated post-doctoral Research Associate to join the Sheffield Alcohol Research Group (SARG).
SARG is an internationally leading centre for alcohol policy, epidemiological and economic research, bringing together fields including public health, operational research, psychology, social policy, engineering, and health economics. The group carries out innovative research relating to the prevention of physical and mental ill health related to alcohol consumption, and more recently smoking and gambling.
The job involves working on the analysis and dissemination of quantitative and qualitative data that we have already collected for our project, evaluating the impact of minimum unit pricing in Scotland on harmful drinkers. This is an excellent opportunity for a researcher looking to build their publication record through lead and co-authoring journal articles while developing their career in an encouraging subject research environment.
You should have a PhD in a relevant subject area, quantitative analysis skills and a strong publication record for your career stage, including experience of lead-authoring journal articles. You should also have excellent spoken and written communication skills for engaging with scientific, public and policy partners. Experience of qualitative data analysis and a good working knowledge of current alcohol, public health and policy research, particularly around alcohol pricing, are desirable.
