De Montfort University (DMU) are looking to appoint a new Pro Vice-Chancellor Research and Business Innovation. As a member of the University Leadership Team, you will provide proactive leadership for the development and delivery of the research strategy and a resultant portfolio across our university. As an inspiring academic leader, you will contribute to the strategic direction of the university, enhancing the university’s research by further developing its reputation and impact regionally, nationally and internationally.
In your new role as Pro Vice-Chancellor Research and Business Innovation, you will line manage the Business Engagement and Research Offices and an Associate PVC Research. You will be responsible for cultivating and advancing innovate research; develop partnerships with business’ and support the industrial strategy and economic development of the East Midlands.
What you will need to succeed
To be successful as Pro Vice-Chancellor Research and Business Innovation you will have achieved a higher degree; a postgraduate qualification or a PhD. You must demonstrate significant senior management experience in higher education, specifically in a large/complex organisation – including management of a cross-functional team in the delivery of faculty research support, or leading a team in bid preparation and submission, for example. A professor with extensive experience of research activity within the HE sectors and an excellent academic track record, of international research standing. The ability to communicate a vision for the future of the University, and the ability to translate that vision to other members of the staff in order to enthuse, inspire and draw on their support.
