De Montfort University (DMU) are looking to appoint a new Deputy Dean, Faculty of Computing, Engineering, and Media. The faculty is home to a diverse range of courses across three specialist schools, the School of Computer Science and Informatics, School of Engineering and Sustainable Development, and the Leicester Media School. Our courses are taught by experienced academics in professional facilities using cutting-edge technology equipping students with the skills and specialist knowledge to solve real-world problems.
As Deputy Dean, you will be exceptional in providing leadership, vision and strategy in support of the full range of teaching, research and commercial activities across the faculty. As a key member of the Faculty Executive Team, you will deputise for the PVC/Dean as required, you will lead on cross-faculty portfolios with an emphasis on change management, external collaboration and entrepreneurial activity. We are seeking to appoint an individual whose ambition matches ours.
What you will need to succeed
With a proven track record in academic leadership, you will have a keen appreciation of the current trends within the sector and the managerial wherewithal to span the exciting range of duties that this role entails. Your substantive background will be in one of the disciplines represented within the faculty, yet you will have the interest and empathy to be credible across all disciplines. Finally, you will share DMU’s passion to provide outstanding and inclusive outcomes for all of its students and staff. Depending on your qualifications, skills and experience, you may be eligible for professorial status.
