This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on Streatham campus (Exeter) and some working from home. As an essential frontline service, the Student Information Desk prioritises on campus working so you will be asked to work on campus while initial training is completed.
About the role
The position of Senior Student Information Desk Advisor offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced customer services professional. The University of Exeter is looking for a committed individual who has the required experience and skills to support, develop and shape a high profile service critical in delivering the best student experience at one of the UKs most ambitious universities.
The Senior Advisor will be part of a dedicated and flexible ‘in-house’ team of up to 20 full/part time staff and 5 student staff. They will work closely with 2 other Senior Advisors to assist the SID Team Manager by supervising advisors working on the front desk in core day-to-day activities. The post holder will be expected to demonstrate a passion to exceed customer expectations and promote a customer focused approach in the team. They will be responsible for ensuring all customers receive a prompt, professional and integrated service.
This post will initially have particular responsibility for Graduation and Student Records liaison, and be expected to work alongside the Senior team whose members will have particular responsibility for other areas. Allocated areas may be subject to adjustment over time.
About You
The successful applicant will also need to be flexible with working hours to ensure the Student Information Desk is fully operational between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday and 9 am to 5pm Saturdays during term time and is open at other appropriately reduced times. There will be a requirement for some evening, weekend, bank holiday and University closure day working to cover operational requirements and changes.
