Learner and Discovery Services (LDS) is an award-winning unit of The Open University responsible for the production and delivery of the University’s curriculum; it also has a central role in the design of learning materials.
The Open University Library (part of Learner and Discovery Services) is recruiting a Senior Library Manager – Digital Services & Metadata, who will lead the team that carries out the product management of our user-facing library websites including Library Search our discovery system. You will make sure that our websites are accessible, meet user-needs and work effectively to provide our students and researchers with the information and content they need to be successful.
The role leads our team of metadata specialists who support Library Search and other library systems as well as undertaking metadata work across the University. Working with other teams across the Library and the wider University you will get involved in project management, institutional projects, procuring and implementing new websites and managing relationships with key suppliers. Our product management, accessibility, UX and metadata specialists work together to combine their knowledge to deliver high-quality outcomes and continuous improvement.
As a member of the Library’s Extended Leadership Team you will contribute to strategy development and take part in our Duty Manager rota, being on-site at least once a month to support our in-building Library services.
