There is an exciting opportunity to work within an expanding department of the University. Operating on a global scale to deliver world-class teaching and research, the University recognises the risks that come with collaborating internationally. The University has created the new role of International Risk and Export Control Officer to assist with identifying, mitigating and managing the risks it faces, whether they are legal or reputational in nature.
You will provide advice, support and training on all issues related to export control, the National Security and Investment Act 2021 and the Nagoya Protocol, as well as any other applicable legislation/regulations.
Working with senior colleagues to develop systems that help the University achieve legislative and regulatory compliance, you will be a resourceful and innovative individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong networks. You will have a degree (or equivalent qualification or relevant professional experience). You will also take the lead in preparing and applying for export control licences and engaging with Governmental bodies such as the Research Collaboration Advice Team and the Export Control Joint Unit.
