About the role
We’re on the look out for a Deputy Head of Academic Governance and Quality. This new role is an exciting opportunity for someone who has expert knowledge of higher education quality assurance, policy and compliance. If you’re either an experienced quality assurance officer or advisor looking for that next step in your career or a current Manager, Leader or Deputy Head, then this is the perfect fit for you. We’re a growing team with a new strategy and your wealth of knowledge at this time of change will be key to our success.
As our new Deputy Head of Academic Governance and Quality (Educational Partnerships), you’ll play a pivotal role in redefining the university’s approach to partnership management. You’ll lead the redevelopment of quality assurance and academic compliance processes, ensuring these are designed and then applied to partnerships in a risk based way. Your role will be central in ensuring partners feel supported, informed and well placed to meet their compliance objectives. You’ll also make connections across University teams to ensure continual enhancements to teaching and learning and the student experience at partner providers.
This is an exciting time to be joining a growing team with an expanded remit for shaping the University’s approach to partnership management. You will drive forward an effective approach to partner meetings, visits, and review activity, take ownership of the operation of core quality assurance processes for programme approval, change, review and assessment, and lead on academic risk management for partnerships.
About you
You will be an experienced higher education professional who enjoys driving change and improvement with diverse groups of stakeholders. You will have a thorough understanding of the higher education regulatory environment and the requirements of the Office for Students, and be able to demonstrate a commitment to maintaining your external network and expertise in quality assurance.
You'll work creatively with your team and others to solve problems, shape strategy and manage change. You’ll be an excellent communicator, adapting your style and focus accordingly with different partners and be confident in providing and explaining complex concepts clearly.
