An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time Occupational Health Technician to join our small but busy team working three days a week. The Occupational Health Service is part of the University Occupational Health and Safety Service and is responsible for the development of occupational health support, compliance and support services for staff and studentships throughout the University and Departments.
The main purpose of this role is to assist in the delivery of occupational health services, under the supervision of a Senior Occupational Health Nurse Adviser. The role involves a range of clinical and administrative work activities, consistent with statutory health and safety legislation as well as local policies and procedures. You should be self-motivated, well organised and prepared to use your initiative. Effective communication and team working skills together with confident use of standard IT systems including 'Microsoft Office' are essential. Familiarity of occupational health practice would be an advantage.
The post holder will undertake a comprehensive training programme and competency to practice will be assessed.
