We are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer with expertise in graphic design to lead the development and teaching of BA (hons) Graphic Communication at Arts University Plymouth. You will be a creative practitioner who demonstrates a broad range of knowledge and expertise across professional visual communication practices, including graphic design (publishing, packaging, infographics, identity design, etc), art direction, web design and related software and technologies. You will have professional teaching experience at HE level in graphic communication and comfortable teaching the subject in an approach that effectively integrates the practical, historical and theoretical aspects of designing and producing contemporary visual design.
As Course Leader, you will manage all aspects of the organisation, management, and leadership of the BA (Hons) Graphic Communication course, collaborating with colleagues across the University. You will contribute to the vision of the course, and inspire your team to develop exciting, challenging and meaningful content for students, and support them to develop professional skills and/or careers within the field of graphic design as well as within the wider Creative industries sector. In the CL role you will be expected to develop your professional excellence in learning and teaching, research and scholarship, knowledge transfer, and in shaping our student experience in line with AUP’s strategic plan. The successful candidate will be professionally active in their field and willing to contribute to our research ambitions and international profile as an innovative, sustainable and broadly inclusive arts university
