Learning Technologist

The Centre for Open Learning and the Moray House School of Education & Sport have a shared Learning Technology Team based at the Holyrood Campus of the University of Edinburgh, we are seeking two Learning Technologists to join our expanding team.

The Opportunity:

The post holder will provide pedagogic, technical and practical advice, guidance and support to academic and professional services staff on the use and development of technology enhanced learning tools for the delivery and development of teaching and learning. The Learning Technologist will provide ongoing support, encouragement and dissemination of good practice as well as carrying out project-based work on specific course and programme developments.

Your skills and attributes for success:

• Proven experience in supporting users to make the most of the capabilities of the Learn Ultra VLE or similar, and in the use of eLearning tools, such as blogs, wikis, collaboration tools, within a pedagogical framework.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate with students and staff with a wide range of technical expertise
• Experience of organising and running staff development training (one-to-one and group), writing documentation and giving presentations
• Ability to identify, prioritise, plan and manage work independently without direct supervision, and flexibility to accommodate peaks and ad hoc changes in workload
