Data Management & Programming Architect

Full time (35hrs per week)

The Edinburgh Clinical Trials Unit at the Usher Institute within The University of Edinburgh is looking for a Data Management & Programming Architect. This is a new strategically important appointment within the unit to work closely with our collaborators as we onboard new projects to our trials portfolio and deliver our clinical trials strategy. Working with the Senior Trial Manager Start-up Specialist, and the wider Data Management & Programming Team, you will be responsible for the early design and specification of trial database systems and various supporting services across the unit.

The Opportunity:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Edinburgh Clinical Trials Unit (ECTU), a leading registered trials unit based within the Usher Institute at Edinburgh Bioquarter. ECTU has a proven track record on delivering research and answering important questions about treatment and service delivery within the NHS. We work closely with patient groups and clinicians who are outstanding in their field. As a valued member of the ECTU Data Management & Programming Team, you will provide essential capacity and expertise for this period of project delivery, where regulatory requirements and key study design characteristics are explored, pivotal to the successful delivery of a complex trial portfolio.

We will consider part-time/job share as long as the post can be filled on a full time basis.

Your skills and attributes for success:

• Experienced in system and service architecture with strong attention to detail.
• Experienced in a GCP or GMP environment, with the ability to interpret and conform to regulatory requirements for the delivery of clinical trials.
• Demonstrable experience of eliciting project requirements from stakeholders and ability to drive projects forward.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to inspire confidence and to provide authoritative information.
• Proficient in recruiting and managing staff.
